open design describes a design practice, that sees the user not only as a consumer, but also as a (co)designer. Together with Christopher Gross we pursued the question of how an electronic device may look under these principles.
The result was a universal remote control that can easily be fabricated at home or with the help of a FabLab. With its simple design, it is customizable to the individual needs.
Against current trends, we tried to avoid overly digital input methods and created a concept that enables users to expierence the control of TV, Smart Home and other gadgets with a physical and personal component.
